3-Step Formula for Endless Lead Generation

If you’re wondering if this approach can work for you or if you’re thinking I have some sort of special power or secrets I’m not telling you about, let me just tell you that I struggled for about 8 years in two different networking marketing companies before I found and implemented this approach. In fact, to say I struggled would really be putting it lightly, I failed miserably. I lost money in both companies I joined, I recruited a total of I think 2 people in the two different companies that I tried. I was trying to use the “friends and family” and cold market prospecting sort of strategies that I was told to use by my up-line.

 

It’s Not Your Fault

So listen, if you’re struggling, first of all let me tell you I know where you are, I’ve been there and I know what it feels like and the truth is it’s not your fault! The reason it’s not your fault is because you just haven’t been told the entire story yet. You’ve probably been told that there’s one way to build this business and if you want to duplicate you have to follow the system and do it our way. At least that’s what I was told.

 

Bad Advice?

The problem with that advice is that we all have different personalities, we all have different skills and talents and your skills and talents may not be the same as the person who sponsored you or the other people in your upline. So, I want you to know first of all that I’m not here to tell you that traditional prospecting won’t work. Clearly, it’s worked for many people for many years in this profession. But the reason it works for them is because it fits their personality. It’s a skillset they enjoy developing. For me that wasn’t the case. I hated it. In fact, I knew it wasn’t a strategy that’d I’d ever continue to be able to use or sustain for the long term growth of my business.

 

Another Way

So, clearly what I’m going to show you is not the only way or the right way to build a business. It’s just an alternate way. The truth is the only real right way to build this business… is the way that is right for you! As much as your up-line may not want me to tell you that, I want to give you the truth. I want you to know all of your options, and I want you to know that there’s an alternate way if you struggle like I did with the traditional strategies you’ve been told to use so far. And I’m going to show you right now how I’ve learned to do it.

 

The 3 Step Blueprint

The 3-step blueprint that I’ve used for my business is abbreviated as TCC. T stands for Target and I’ll tell you here in just a minute what the two Cs stand for.

 

Step 1: Targeting

So the first step to easy, no resistance recruiting is targeting the right people. Unfortunately, friends and family aren’t typically a very targeted audience, because they’re not specifically looking for your product or actively searching to join a business opportunity. This is why you’re typically met with a lot of resistance and you feel like you have to become some sort of salesperson and overcome a bunch of objections. It’s because it’s very difficult to sell something to somebody unless they already have a preexisting desire to consume what it is you’re selling.

Think of it like this; if you’re trying to sell a bunch of steaks to vegetarians, it doesn’t matter how good your steaks are, vegetarians don’t have a preexisting desire to consume what it is you’re selling, so you’re going to have a pretty hard time making any sells, right? On the other hand, you could have a mediocre steak or a pretty good steak and put it in front of the crowd down as Tom’s Bar and Grill, and you’ll sell the crap out of them, right? And the other problem with traditional prospecting that you really need to understand is that prospecting is a pushing strategy. Prospecting pushes people away, while marketing pulls them in!

Think of it like this; if you wanted to catch fish; prospecting is like if you went down to the watering hole and you just started shoving your hand in the water hoping to grab a fish. What are the fish going to do when you start chasing after them and shoving your hand in there trying to get them? They’re going to run away from you by swimming away, right? That’s exactly what happens in your business when you go chasing after people like most up-line trainers will tell you to do. They try to get away from you; they avoid your phone calls.

Now, you and I both know, if you really want to catch a fish, the best way to do it is figure out first of all what kind of fish do you want to catch (that’s targeting) and then you put the appropriate bait in the water to let fish come to you. That’s marketing! and that’s the exact foundation for how I’ve built my business. Listen, I knew if I could instead of chasing 20-30 people a day, interrupting people’s lives, being a pest, if instead of that I could just get 5 people a day to contact me about what I have to offer I knew that this business would be a 1000 times easier and so much more enjoyable.

So I imagine you’re probably wondering at this point, “Daniel, that’s great. I love it, but who is the perfect audience for my opportunity or my product and what kind of bait should I be using to get them to come to me?” And I do want to answer that question for you, unfortunately it’s going to require a little more time and explanation than I can give you in this particular blog post, but the good news is that I’ve got a free in depth master training that I want to give you. Step 2: Cultivate

So Step 2 – after you’ve figured out who your target audience is and you’ve used the appropriate bait to attract them to you – is to cultivate. Cultivate the relationship. Make no mistake, this is, always has been, and always will be a relationship business. You can build it online or you can build it offline. It doesn’t matter, but you can’t do it without building relationships and providing value to other people first.

Here’s where most people get it all wrong. They come to the internet asking the wrong question. I get people that ask me all the time, “Daniel, how do I recruit more people and make more sells on the internet?” And that’s the wrong question. The question you should be asking is, “How do I use the internet to build more relationships and connect with more people so that I can eventually expose more prospects to my product or opportunity?” Do you guys see the difference? Most people come online and they want to just go straight for the sell. Spamming their links all over the place, they’re shouting from the rooftops, “Buy my stuff! Join my opportunity!” and post it all over social media, but listen to this when I tell you that without the relationship in place first, that will not work. One of the myths that people unfortunately believe about the internet is, “You just can’t build relationships over a computer.” That’s total nonsense, because if Oprah Winfrey can build a relationship with millions of people she’s never met, there’s no reason that you and I can’t build relationships with strangers from all over the world through the internet. Step 3: Convert

Step 3 is, convertSo my whole 3 step process – I told you it was simple – is target the right people, cultivate a relationship with them, and then convert them into sales. All convert means is that you’re taking somebody who hasn’t yet purchased your product or joined your opportunity and you’re converting them into a customer or recruiting them into your business. The thing is most people think conversion requires you to be some sort of pushy salesman or a master manipulator, or that if they just knew the right words or they had the right script they’d be converting like crazy. The truth is, without Step 1 and Step 2 in place first, having the right script or the perfect closing line isn’t going to do you any good anyway, right? Now, on the other hand, when you have the right person in front of your offer and you’ve built a relationship with them – hey know you, they like you, they trust you –then you can be an average salesperson with a mediocre script and you will still perform way better than you would than if you didn’t already have Steps 1 and 2 in place first.
